The Windows of Heaven
Class Notes for Friday, 5-6-2005
  1. Definition:

  2.      The Windows of Heaven is an astronomical repulsive force, which increases as the Windows are opened.  It causes time to pass by very quickly for the stars caught-up in it.  As the stars are moved away from earth at the time of Noah's flood, up to billions of years pass by for them, while just 5 months pass by on earth.
  3. Scriptural References:
    1. John 20 (Living Bible):

    2.      19 That evening the disciples were meeting behind locked doors, in fear of the Jewish leaders, when suddenly Jesus was standing there among them!  After greeting them, 20 he showed them his hands and side.  And how wonderful was their joy as they saw their Lord!
21 He spoke to them again and said, "As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you."  22 Then he breathed on them and told them, "Receive the Holy Spirit.  23 If you forgive anyone's sins, they are forgiven.  If you refuse to forgive them, they are unforgiven."
24 One of the disciples, Thomas, "The Twin," was not there at the time with the others.  25 When they kept telling him, "We have seen the Lord," he replied, "I won't believe it unless I see the nail wounds in his hands; and put my fingers into them; and place my hand into his side."
26 Eight days later the disciples were together again, and this time Thomas was with them.  The doors were locked; but suddenly, as before, Jesus was standing among them and greeting them.
27 Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger into my hands.  Put your hand into my side.  Don't be faithless any longer.  Believe!"
28 My Lord and my God!" Thomas said,
    3. Job 37 (NIV):

    4.      18 can you join him in spreading out the skies, hard as a mirror of cast bronze?
21 Now no one can look at the sun, bright as it is in the skies after the wind has swept them clean.
    5. Genesis 1 (KJV):

    6.      6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
8 And God called the firmament Heaven.  And the evening and the morning were the second day.
    7. Genesis 7 (KJV):

    8.      11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
